Bell has a new intranet
Since 5 July 2010, Bell’s internal communications have been enhanced with a new intranet. With SharePoint 2007, the Swiss meat industry leader chose a solution that is cost-efficient and scalable. Unic was responsible for this intranet relaunch.
Intranet on SharePoint 2007
By introducing a new intranet, Bell not only wanted to replace the Obtree CMS but also to ensure continuity. The existing document management system (DMS) had to be integrated. In addition, applications such as the course management tool needed to be transferred to the new intranet. Unic developed an intranet for Bell that is based on SharePoint 2007. On this platform, the DMS and the intranet could be merged in a cost-efficient way – without endangering previous investments.
Customisable intranet
Unic converted other tools such as widgets and a merchandising shop. Bell employees now have a user-friendly and customisable intranet to work with. The DMS can continue to be used without a problem. With little investment and low operating costs, an intranet was created that can easily be adjusted to new requirements.
